Η Πηνελόπη είναι ένα ποίημα ερωτικό και απελπισμένο το οποίο εκθέτει με διαυγή τρέλα και υψηλή γλώσσα τους πόνους ενός επανακτημένου αλλά αβίωτου έρωτα. Μια βασανιστική κραυγή ερωτικής έκστασης που μετατρέπεται σε αγωνία. Η Πηνελόπη επεξηγεί τις πιο φριχτές συνέπειες της αγάπης διατρέχοντας την Οδύσσεια από την άποψη της Πηνελόπης, η οποία αφηγείται, μετά θάνατον, την επιστροφή του Οδυσσέα έτσι όπως δεν έχει ποτέ ειπωθεί. Είναι η ιστορία μιας εμμονικής αγάπης. Μια εμμονή που γίνεται λόγος που πνίγει κάθε λέξη στον μαρασμό των αχαλίνωτων στεναγμών μιας ερωτευμένης γυναίκας που σφαδάζει καθώς ναυαγεί στην άβυσσο του πόνου. Τα μάτια της, θολωμένα από τα δάκρυα δεν βλέπουν τον κόσμο και τα δράματα που τον διαταράσσουν, παρά γίνονται μάρτυρες ενός μοναχικού φινάλε σε μια χώρα που δεν ανήκει σε κανέναν, εκεί όπου η Πηνελόπη περιπλανιέται φοβισμένη, μόνη και δυστυχισμένη. Για να αφηγηθείς τον μύθο της Πηνελόπης στη σκηνή σήμερα σημαίνει ότι έχεις συνείδηση όλων αυτών, σημαίνει ότι αμφισβητείς πάνω στο σανίδι τη βαθύτερη ουσία της ανθρώπινης ύπαρξης, σημαίνει ότι προκαλείς τους θεατές να περάσουν πέρα από τα όρια του καθρέφτη, να αποδυθούν τη μάσκα να απογυμνωθούν μπροστά στην Αλήθεια.

Penelope è un poema erotico e disperato, che espone con lucida follia e altissimo linguaggio le pene di un amor ritrovato, ma invivibile. Uno struggente grido di estasi erotica, che si trasforma in agonia. Penelope illustra le più atroci conseguenze dell’amore ripercorrendo l’Odissea dal punto di vista di Penelope, la quale oramai defunta
racconta il ritorno di Ulisse come mai è stato raccontato. E’ la storia di una ossessione amorosa, un’ossessione che si fa verbo, strappando ogni singola parola al marasma di gemiti inarticolati in cui questa donna innamorata
affoga e si dibatte. Raccontare in scena il mito di Penelope oggi, significa esser consapevoli di tutto questo, significa sfidare, sulle assi del palcoscenico, l’essenza più profonda del proprio essere, significa lanciare una sfida agli spettatori: una sfida a valicare il confine dello specchio, una sfida a spogliarsi della maschera per offrirsi nudi al cospetto di Verità.

Penelope is an erotic and desperate poem, which exposes with lucid madness and high language the pains of a rediscovered but unlivable love. A tormenting cry of erotic ecstasy, which turns into agony. Penelope illustrates the most atrocious consequences of love by retracing the Odyssey from the point of view of Penelope, who by now defunct tells of the return of Ulysses as never told. It is the story of a love obsession, an obsession that becomes a verb, tearing every single word to the chaos of inarticulate groans in which this woman in love drowns and struggles. Her eyes too dark with tears do not see the world and the dramas that upset it, but they are witnesses of a desolate final match, in a no man’s land, where Penelope is afraid, sad and lonely. To narrate the myth of Penelope on stage today means to be aware of all this, means to challenge, on the stage aces, the deepest essence of one’s being, it means throwing a challenge to the spectators: a challenge to cross the border of the mirror, a challenge to undress the mask to offer naked in the presence of Truth.
